This is the website of Audio Urdu Bible!

The website was launched for the first time in August 2005 to provide the Audio Urdu Bible through the Internet. It was updated on the occasion of the production of the Audio Urdu Bible CD in February 2008.

Purpose

The official literacy rate of Pakistan was 49% in 2007, but it is much lower for the poor, uneducated Christians. Therefore, many people cannot read even though the Bible book is available. If they cannot read, we can help the people of Pakistan listen to the Bible!! This is the purpose of this project!

The Audio Urdu Bible will be delivered via the Internet and Portable Player. It can be used for the training of Christians, evangelism for non-believers, language training of missionaries, and as a gift for Urdu-speaking laborers abroad worldwide.

Production and Copyright

The Audio Urdu Bible is the product of the Audio Bible Project jointly conducted by Korea Computer Mission and Pakistan Bible Society. These two organizations have its copyright. The manuscript is "The Holy Bible in Urdu, Revised Edition" published by the Pakistan Bible Society.

The recording and correction started in 2002 and finished in 2005. The production of the Audio Urdu Bible in 3 compact disc formats was finally completed, and its official distribution started in January 2008. Now, we are distributing the Audio Urdu Bible in a stand-alone portable player instead of CDs.

The recording and error-correcting work were conducted by Pakistan Christian Recording Ministries, and proofreading and many other tasks were done by Urdu teachers, pastors, seminary students, staff of Christian organizations, and volunteers.

The management of the whole process, digitalization of the recordings/production of the CD and Portable Players for distribution, and internet work were conducted by Korea Computer Mission.

Fund

The funds for this project were raised through donations from Korean churches and people.

CD Distribution

The Audio Urdu Bible will be distributed by the Pakistan Bible Society, Pakistan Christian Recording Ministries, and Korea Computer Mission.
